world of companion cubes
i like to self host random things & sometimes code my own stuff too
(under construction) can mean anything from "up and nearly there" to "an idea i just had"
social
- lycra.club cycling fans forum - and oldschool style forum for fans of professional cycling. hasn't taken off yet, but i'm still tinkering with it.
- matrix/element instance - there are some federation issues that need fixing and sign ups are closed >_<
- (under construction) sharkey instance - will be installing this once i've backed up and closed down my old pleroma instance
nonstop web radios
- cube's greatest hits - general hits from the 60s/70s/80s and sometimes 90s
- (under construction) cube's pop - more recent pop that we like or has a different vibe to "greatest hits"
- ray noises - 90s, tracker music, retro video game music
coding & development
- gitea instance - mainly for personal use, sign ups & password reset is disabled, but get in touch if for some reason you'd like to use it
- development board cheat sheet/knowledge base - everytime i code something on my dev boards i document it here because otherwise
i forget what i did or how to do something specific!! plus all dev boards have their quirks and restrictions one loses track of...
i recently received my cardputer adv but i still havent even attempted to write anything for it, but that'll be on there when i do.
other projects & interests
not necessarily self hosting or coding but techy fun stuff
- meshtastic - like walkie talkies but with text. there are a shed load of devices out there, i used the new cardputer adv for a little while but the battery
on it is funky, so i bought a little heltec node to keep plugged in in my house, then for traveling i use the lilygo t deck plus (although i am finding the battery on that a little funky too...).
with little adoption the system can't work, so i encourage you to give it a try just for the fun of it! who knows who you'll find out there.
- 3ds hacks - if you still own any variety of 3ds and like playing its games (or even if you dont own one, i recommend buying one for this purpose - "new" nintendo 2ds xl imo is the best value).
there is a homebrew app "hshop" you can use to download any game you want easily directly to your console & you can use ftpd to transfer other files without having to keep
taking the sd card out. the entire process has breathed new life into my old consoles, i thoroughly recommend giving it a go and looking for obscure games youve never heard of in hshop!!
